Door trim removal
Should help you out mate, I just typed "how to remove VR door trim" into google, and that was the first result
Good luck with it![]()
if you're talking about the door trim liner....
- there are 3 screws along the bottom (under the pocket)
- you have to carefully pick the cover off (using a small flat blade screwdriver) the pull handle and you will find 2 screws under there.
- the door release handle (what you pull to open the door) has a screw in it
- using that small screwdriver again, you have to release the red strip from the lock button... to do it, slide the screwdriver blade in the side and flick it out (towards you) ... it will "pop" out and go loose, then you should be able to just lift the button up and off... behind that is a screw...
- lastly... all that is left now is clips, you carefully pry it from the bottom and work your way up the sides of the liner... when you get to the top... LIFT the whole liner UP (it sits over a lip along the edge of the window) and wah-lah!
I'm sure i've covered it all... if ive forgotten something... let me know...
thanks guys, the main issue iv had is the first bit which is getting the lock off, what do i actually need to do or get off, neither the sleeve or the actual bit that pops up and down wants to budge

On the bit that pops up and down, theres a red rectangle/square shape bit of plastic, you need to pry that out, towards the center of the car/away from the window.
Either use a really small flat head screw driver, or if you have one an 'O' ring pick, on the last ones I did on my VN, I had to give it a bit of persuasion to come out, was stuck in there good and tight - but at the same time, not too much to break the little tabs off the back...
You need to prise the orange bit out. I usually use something sharp. Or a small flat blade screw driver will do the trick.
EDIT: Beaten to it. Good luck with it.
alright so i have gotten the door trim off, now its a matter of getting the window back on the runners.. one of the arms has the little plastic bit that goes in the u shaped chanel of the window, where as the front one has seperated and the grey plastic bit is actually in the U shaped brass chanel, sh*tty description but i dont knw how else to explain it, i can't figure out how to re attatch the arms to the brass U shaped channels that are attatched to the glass. got a few hours left to work its out so fingers crossed![]()

So one of those plastic things has fallen off the little balls on the end of the arms?
"THERE'S YA ROBLEM"
Will most likely need another one, either a new one or good second hand'ie.
Is the old one cracked where it mounts to the little ball?
If its not, and the hole is still resonably circular, you can try re-attach it with a pair of multigrips, or similar, you'll need to squeeze faily hard to get it to pop over the ball, the plastic has a lip inside the hole to help it stay on.
your right mate that is the problem haha, yeh one was broken the other was damaged but not completely destroyed, gonna replace both. Now the thing is actually attatching them to the arms and runners..
do you first put the plastic into the runner then squeeze the ball into the plastic, or do you put tthe plastic on the ball of the arm then try put it in the runner? tried the first way with the one good one and couldnt get it in, couldnt really use any force because of the awkward position in the door, does it have to be done while the glass and arms are still in thte door attatched?

You could probably try either way, but I would do it with the plastic straight onto the ball, while its out of the runner. The ones I did took a bit of force to get them on, and it may deform the runner a little.
Once you get the plastic guides back onto the balls then you'll have to get them back into the runners, which will involve undoing the support arm/3rd arm off the inside of the door. (See hows there's two arms, one either end of the window? Well, the third one that goes to the door! Not sure specific names)
Remove the outer window trim, makes it easier with a bit more room to work. Pull up, sometimes theres a screw in the door handle end. May need to undo the mirror too.
Wind the window regulator to about half way up the door, probably where it is if you have just put the plastic things on the balls.
Two 10mm bolts, towards the rear of the door, it holds a small runner in place. Need to undo and remove that.
Then lift the window/glass into the door so the first runner meets up to the plastic, about half way in, about a 45 degree angle. So that the front edge of the window is facing down into the door, while the back is poking up. Looks totally wrong, but stick with it!
Slide the front plastic bit/arm into the runner, then slide it along a fair way, while at the same time lowering the rear end of the glass down closer to where it needs to be to meet up with the rear runner.
Try and get the rear plastic bit/arm into the rear runner. Sounds easy, and is after you've done a few, but if its your first, it could take a little mucking around!
Once they're both in, make sure the front edge of the window is in the bailey channel - (rubber channel the window slides in) and make sure the back edge is in the rear bailey channel, then rotate the window back around til it looks 'normal'
The third arm, that mounts to the door should line up close, so you can put the third runner on the plastic bit, and bolt it back into place.
Mehhh/brain fart..... :/
That took ages to writeHope you can understand some of it, and good luck.

lol, no probs. It can be a bit of a mind ####, or it can be easy - Especially after you've done a few.
Gaffa tape fixes everything, usually, if not there's always zipties
Let us know how you get on with it.
If you can't get new ones, try the wreckers, they'll probably try and sell you the whole regulator but. I used some decent second hand ones out of a set of VP doors I have laying around, in the VN. Worked a treat!
thanks for the responses, does anyone know where i can get the plastic slides? preferably in wa? iv sourced them on rare spares and ebay, ebay would be a wait though with postage and what not and rare spares isn't really that close to where i live. could or would supersh*t or auto one have them?
heres a link to the ones on ebay, same as the ones from rarespares but they say vt, vx etc, i can't find any for vs specifically, look the same, would they work?
