Question Random flat battery in a statesman... -.-

    Okay here is the story...

I was thinking; I haven't driven my VS Statesman in a while, maybe I should start it up. Open up the garage, unlock the car and turn the key all I get is the engine turning over like 100 times a second. Just a constant click. I'm thinking I need to get a more mechanically minded person in here "DAD" ... Turns out my battery decided to go dead for absolutely no reason what so ever. No lights were on, now switches were on just nothing. We turned the lights on to check how flat the battery is and they were still bright as hell and didn't dim at all, the radio still worked as well. just the car wouldn't start. I'm Guessing there is some easy reason as to why this all happened but i don't know it.

    Any help?

Did you try giving the starter motor a tap?

yep... done the whole once over on the car. tightened terminals and tapped the starter and fiddled with other things.

Hmmm, dunno mate. Can chuck a multimeter on it and see what volts it has. Should be 12v (give or take) with engine off and 14v or so with it running.

Have you tried a different battery?
