how long would it take for something to go wrong

hello guys, I just had to remove the passenger side head to get something out of the cylinder that i broke in there ( very long story). and i am wondering now, i have got it all back together and running how long before i would notice if something wasn't right?

Would it have started leaking coolent straight away?
blowing smoke?
running different (it runs the same at the moment)?
