If the globe is not working - and the chime is - then it's simply not making good contact or the copper track on the cluster is broken (asuming that nothing ewlse in the wire loom has not been damaged)

It seems that the Fuel light is grounded by the "Speed Alert" module, this should be the one on your dash

Try replace the Speed Alert module with another one and see if this helps.

88 id be going with what you say.....as when the chim when of today i kinda did the holden dash slap just above the fuel light and it came on....so i say your 100% spot on with the globe not making good contact on the copper track.....the tap on the dash may have fixed it lol if it does it again ill pull out the globe and give it a clean........thanks 88greenvn( pos rep sent yourway)

buy a cheap multi-meter from jaycar/dicksmith and test the bulb/bulb holder. use the 12volt dc setting and continuaty setting on the meter. easy!!!
