Hey a couple of weeks back i put some superlows in my vs and the springs seem to be shorter than stock.im not to much worried about the fronts but the backs are shorter by a couple inches which can be dangerous as they can fall out. are these supposed to be shorter? The ends of the coils look like they have been cut?Any pics on how they are supposed to look like on the ends?
Thanks
Will
my lowered springs in my vt were heaps shorter in the rear then the stock ones too, your meant to put lowered shocks in to compensate for the spring being too short.. If there cut throw em out and get a new set, or just dont drive over any train tracks or speed humps too fast![]()
where'd you get the springs from? and are they second hand?
yeh they second hand are both ends sposed to be tappered and yellow painted on the tips
got any pics?
na not atm mate but i could get some
Thats easy to fix with a bit of yellow paint

1.Kings Performance Replacement Coil Springs in both STD and Raised Heights are often shorter than the springs they are replacing. This is because they don't compress as far under the initial pre-load or weight on the vehicle.
the standard shocks should still hold the spring in if it's only SL. as long as the shocks in good condition, I had standard length shocks in my VS with lovells SL (lower than kings) for ages, and they held the springs in fine when the car was jacked up.

The springs aren't going to fall out unless you go jumping the car anyway.
You are better off replacing them with shortened shocks, if you got the extra money to be on the safe side. Also I found superlows wore down my stock shocks pretty fast, so I replaced them with shortened shocks and I am happy with the result. They stayed trapped and the ride is so much better.
Yeh thanks alot guys they just look like someone has attacked them with a angle grinder
I'd be throwing them out then.
soop mate where have you been? Ow I see you have moved to tassie
