    Default Needs work

Hey guys, after picking up my vs, i've recently discovered that i need a new left hand engine mount. Left hand being passenger side. And i think it may need a new tranny m ount. I haven't been underneath it to check tho.

Are they hard to do? i know i need to move the ac compressor etc but yeah.

Anyways, my gearbox is heaps clunky and takes forever to kick down. I was thinking of getting a shift kit but as my commo has 180k+ i think a rebuild may be in order. Anyone know of any shops that will rebuild my auto and put a shift kit etc into it?

    Cheers

Engine mounts are not the easiest to do and the LH is the worst - do a search on this forum as it has been covered many times. Any auto trans shop will fit the kit you want and overhaul the box...at a price...expect a minimum of $2000. At 180k the box is due to fail so it might be a good time to consider all options....like a manual conversion!

depends on what you want to spend.....you could just get a 2nd hand auto from the wreckers and get your local mech to pop it in for you....best of luck either way

New engine mount will be from memory around 150 for genuine gmh, and about 60 maybe for one that is the exact same, that repco sell, (which I have bought, which are fine) which you can also source through holden spare parts. And as Hako said, yes the left hand side is an absolute prick to get to. I remember when I put my new motor in and was putting the lhs one on, I was thinking to myself, imagine trying to change this mount in place...

What makes you think it is an engine mount anyways?
