    Default Is it the auto or diff?

    All,

    Need help ---sons VS won't move in reverse not even roll in neutral. Jacked it up and same. Is it the diff or auto?:

    Check trans fluid then take it to a automatic trans place

    If the wheels dont move maybe the linkage is out of adjustment and not coming out of park fully.

    Although I tend to agree that the issue is within the transmission I simple test you could do is grab your spanners, jump under the car and at the diff, using ONE spanner only (As the nuts will self locate) undo the bolts securing the tailshaft to the diff.

    You will need the rear end raised off of the ground and you will need to turn the tailshaft to do this (Luckily you seem to be able to move it one way at least) I would suggest leaving it in gear and undoing what you can, then putting it in neutral and turning the shaft and putting it back in gear and removing the rest.

    Remember to chock the front wheels too :P At least once the two components are seperated you can tell 100% which one is at fault.

    It could be the clutch pack if so then your looking at least $1100
