vr/vs ss front lip help
hey all, i have put on the rear ss lip and the ss side skrits on my vs, i went to go fit the front lip but it seems that the lip is to short to rap around the bar, to go in to the other wheel well, am i missing some here, or dose is need some more agresive persuasion to be fitted, i got this as a whole kit, wasent a buy a bit here n there, i just dnt know why the front isent going on, can any one plezzz help,didnt think it would b this hard for some thing some simple,lol

Yes you have to be fairly aggressive to get it to fit...I put it on the front bar and did the ends first where they wrap around at the wheel arch and then did the securing screws working from the middle out...I didnt use all the screw mount points as there was quite a few and made sure it was secure by a few sections of sikaflex along the bar from the back where the two bits come together.

did it look like the lip was too short bfor u fitted ur's thow? cos i got a feeling it may b off a vn ss

I have the same issue getting my SS lip onto a series II calais from bar. I tried for ages but it just seemed too short to fit

I put one on mine a few months ago and it went on pretty easy. Best with an extra pair of hands. We just slotted it into the groove around the bottom of the bar, taped it on with some masking tape, drilled the holes in the wheel arch area through the existing holes in the lip and screwed in (this was where the second pair of hands came in as the lip neded a bit of gentle persuasion to line up with the bar propertly), repeated for the other side, removed tape, popped it out of the groove, applied sikaflex and popped it back into the groove. It is rock solid and not going anywhere.
Before applying the sikaflex it was a pretty tight fit anyway. Needed a bit of persuaion to "pop" it out of the groove.
Mine was definitely genuine as I pulled it off an SS that was being wrecked and it has the Holden stamps on the inside.
Two questions, is yours genuine and have you got it sitting in the groove ?
