T400 in vr

Hey Gus just wondering if a turbo 400 transmission would fit into a vr? Can pick one up near new for fair cheap so really thinking about it

Think it will work if you get a tune to turn all the DTC's off and rewire the loom as if you were doing a manual conversion.
I'm not 100% sure on the ins and outs.

T400 are for the 3 speed autos the vn-vp had the T700 and vr-vs have the electric T700,yes thanx for correcting me soop

Ahh not really.
VN VP Had a 4l60 4speed auto with a kick down cable.
VR VS had a 4l60e that used the ECU to control gearchanges via TPS and VSS voltages.

Definitely doable. But whether it is worth it or not is another question. Depending on what you plan on doing to the car as well

Being a heavy duty box, it will suck more power out of the car. Will require a new tailshaft, convertor, gearbox mount and few other little bits and pieces depending on what engine you are mounting it to.
