Default 1996 Vs Acclaim, immaculate condition (First Car)

    Holden commodore VS Acclaim 1996

    North Rocks NSW Australia

    Paid: $3750

    Kilometers: 137000

    Auto Transmission

    V6 Ecotech, with IRS

Condition: Paint is excellent, the interior is amazing, looks like its never been used, full service log book.

Modifications: Nothing, bone stock. At the moment.

    Road Worth Certificate: Yes

    Registration: Till Aug 2011

The car has no mods yet, and is in complete factory condition, which is a steal for $3750

The mods i will be doing over the next few years are:

removing trolley strips (suggestions on weather to paint or remove and how to)
Debadging the car (acclaim and holden from the back)
Lowering with kings ssl and shortened shocks to suit
A whole new sound system including, head deck, amp, speakers and sub
    Some new rims, (need suggestions)

    So thats it

C&C welcome and even some suggestions on what to do Cheers

Cheers for the comment mate, i just dont like the trolley strips they are f*cking ugly!, i wanna remove them, but i heard its a bitch of a job without a caramel wheel.

the springs and shocks will be the first thing bought because they are the cheapest, but yeah, i will keep updated.

Wow, I've got the VS wagon for 2,850 with 143,000 on the clock. Do you think they manipulated the clock? Is that a practice that some workshops do in Australia? This is my first car here. I have 2 W124s in my home country.

    Cheers,

I'd agree with that - but usually by checking parts like pedal rubbers, drivers door hinge, door striker, ignition key etc you can pick them. In Qld they check the speedo when you transfer the rego and if the reading is below the previous reading on transfer or the added km do not match normal usage they will go back to the seller who will get a hefty fine.

Hopefully winding back the clock is not my case. I asked the guy how could this VS travel that little kms over the previous 15 years the guy told me he bought in good faith, actually I felt alright about him. Most important is that the car runs very alright except the A/C compressor's bearing/clutch/pulley was damaged that almost left me in the middle of nowhere by breaking the accessory belt. I opened the air intake plenum and saw it not very dirty, so was the throttle body. So, 143,000 kms were not very from true if it's not.

By the way, does any of you know how to dismantle the AC compressor's pulley? Is there any special tool for that job?

Another thing, my steering wheel never gets look when the key is withdrawn. Besides, blower motor never works at level 1 and 2, only does at 3. I read from other threads it is something wrong with some resistors, isn't it?

Little update, the car has been debadged, the rear badges (excluding the actual lion) and the V6 ecotech from the sides have been removed.

the passenger rear quarter window has been resealed by me, because there was a puddle of water under my spare, but no rust

i have ordered clear indicators and white leds for the licence plate lights, these will be installed this week.

the trolley strips will be removed soon, when i determine weather my car is Acrylic or 2 pac HELP PLEASE!
(VS series 1 acclaim colour code j064)

car will be lowered within the next month on kings superlows, springs only, and windows will be tinted.

pictures will be up when the clear indicators are put on and the new LEDs

    comments and suggestions welcome!

Nice clean acclaim mate, good pick up.

You have the full service history to back up the kms, so it's likely to be genuine. My Berlina has 138000 km's on the clock and it drives like a dream, trouble free and the interior is just amazing too.

I checked out a VS Calais before I bought my car, had 71000 km's on the clock, and it just didn't add up. Seats were worn out and the engine was making all sort of noises. And to have a car with that low km's and not have any service history just guaranteed me even more that it had been rolled back.

A lot of people are doing it but you can tell what's genuine and what's not.

cheers for the comments, yeah its geniune, the service history it sweet, and the whole car is straight as, and the engine has no knocks or noise, and not to mention the bone stock, clean as interior, the headliner isnt even sagging, but i think that may be a repair job
