Hey guys just wondering how much will this be and is it a big job?? its for a vs ss

.......front or rear??
Smitty...with the VE SSv SII Sportswagon, VK race car and...Kwaka ZX12R
Presume you mean the rear main seal? If so it's a big job that needs to have the engine removed to do it properly. Also, I believe there is an issue with the quality of the seals that are around at the present time.
Could you please elaborate?
I just had an engine changeover done and replaced the rear main seal at the same time.
There's no "issue" with quality per se. Its a shitty seal made of ROPE. Its just poor design by holden and all leak eventually. If you're referring to failing early, then it hasnt been installed properly. Probably someone trying to install it on the dodgy without taking the motor out and they havent seated it properly.
i dunno about the vr one
but vs isnt rope its a rubber/pastic seal
there someing like 15-20 bucks from holden
u can drop the gear box out and do it that way to make it easier if you dont have an engine crane ect
gotta change mine cause its pissin out oil
EDIT: miss-read haha im talking about a v6
