Default How easy is this to fix?

Long story short, some hot little P plater chick decided to reverse into my car in Northbridge one Friday night. Only at about 5kms/ph
    Insurance Quotes $2,400 for repairs
while i have the pay out im not going to spend that much on a car that's only worth 3,500
so the plan was to fix the front end myself and prep it for a respray.

the only problem is i have never adjusted these panels on a commodore before. From what i can tell the front Side panel has slightly twisted. making nothing line up

    cheers

looks like its just come away from the clip. Try and line it up and then give it a good bash with you're hand. If not take it off and see what damage is done.
If it's not a Symptom its not relevant, and if its not relevant I don't care!

check the bolts on the bonnet hinges, mightve been enough force to shift the bonnet on the hinges

Are you referring to it being out of line between the quarters? As it looks about the right space. The front bumper will need to come off in order to take off you're headlight.

Looks like what happened to mine last week.
The metal backing plate that the front bumber is attached to has moved. I found that the supports that hold it in place had bent. I took off the front bumber, heated up the support with a blow torch and hit it back straight with a hammer. Not perfect but alot better than what it was. Not really noticable unless you look for it.
You will also need to take the bumber off to replace your headlight.
Was a good 3hrs work by the time i had finished. Not overly hard, just a pain to get the front bumper off initially.

As for the hood im not too sure.
I replaced the headlights in my car with strobe lights, so it looks like I'm the only one moving

Yer tell her its going to cost at least one date, and maybe a few more depending on just how upset you are..

hahaha yeah i do have her number i think after a 900 dollar excess she wont wana talk much though
and yes your right the brackets behind the bumper have bent and the bonnet has moved down and to the right on its mounts.
ive tried for a few hours and could not get the bonnet to line up, maybe the drivers quarter panel is bent?

First post by the OP says: "while i have the pay out im not going to spend that much on a car that's only worth 3,500" ....so I'd guess he has been paid already.
I don't think this chick is the first person to misjudge when reversing........................

$2500 for repairs I dont think so,a new bonnet and head light might cost you $500 then fit it yourself
