Which tight spot are you referring to? The side with the ABS unit or near the distributor cap?

I actually pull the engine out to change my plugs, so I don't have to work in that tight spot....

what i find helps, is that sometimes the rotor button can be pointed in a direction where it catches the dizzy cap as u try to lift it out. just wind the motor over a bit until the rotor button is out of the way, that or pull the rotor button off.

that and u will find there is a bit more room to get the dizzy cap out on the drivers side of the manifold, move it across a bit before u try to lift it up and out.

Ok think I'm working it out, sorry if I sound completely useless, I've done spark plugs shit loads on our vs v6 everything different with v8, when I looked I mean at distributor cap no room to pull the leads off, so I'm guessing I have to unclip or whatever to get cap off so I can move it closer to drivers side to get all leads off. Cause i was thinking i had to pull leads off in the position it is, Cheers

Make sure the engine is cold. Take off the engine covers and tie back the heater hoses for more room. Place some padding across the inlet manifold and front of the car/radiator. Lie across the engine from the front and you will have enough room (just) to get the distributor cap off. Make sure you replace the leads into the same position. Make sure you also replace the distributor cap and rotor at the same time. You don't want to do this again for a long long time:

Sweet, while car goes up a hill, well under load it has a miss, so should repace dizzy and rotor, so once cap and leads are gone to get the rotor out on other post it suggests wiggle and pull hard, guessing new one should just slide in, thanks for the help. Feeling alot more confident now

bonnet off = 2 mins of your time and will save atleast 15 mins of time
