Default anyone ever put a vt v6 ecotec in a vs? few questions!

so putting a vt v6 that was off an auto in my vs wagon which is getrag 5spd manual.

ive noticed there is a pipe from the exhaust manifold to the intake plenum, what do i do there, just put on the vs plenum and manifolds?
is it as simple as just changing over wire looms.
    anything else?
also what are the diff in internals, were vts given any extra refinement or kw or anything?

That pipe you can block, The looms are the exact same, There is really no difference internally, I have just put a vs motor into my mate's vt it's a very straight forward swap.

Looms are not the same; use your current vs manual loom which will all plug in fine. The pipe on the vt motor your talking about is the EGR which is not used on the vs models. You will need to fit both vs exhaust manifolds to the vt motor as the drivers side is a different shape and this will also get rid of the egr threaded hole you have in the passenger side manifold. The egr pipe also goes into the plenum behind the throttle body. You can either block this hole or fit the vs inlet manifold and plenum to the vt motor. Id suggest this option as its a good opportunity to replace the inlet manifold/valley gaskets which often fail and also the vt inlet manifold will not have the small brass coolant temp sender (which works the cluster temp gauge) located under the thermostat like the vs does. If you use the vt manifold you will have to drill and tap this sender into the manifold. The thread is 1/8 npt.
Internals are the same. The few extra kw's vt are quoted to have over the vs is basically through the tune.
To sum up, in my opinion the easiest method would be to fit the vs loom, exhaust manifolds, inlet manifold and plenum to the vt motor and away you go.
    Hope that helps.
    Cheers

    most important thing to do
    change ur fuel pump
other wise u will find u will blow ur motor again if u try taking it to 5grand again
I can bet me bottem dollor ur motor blew up when u were at 5 grand at 190 in 4th gear because u were lacking on fuel supply to ur motor which ie caused ur motor to lean out and detinate a piston

if u h avent pulled ur motor out yet bud get ur hands on a compression tester and have a look at ur compression so u no where to start looking can only take a small chip or scratch to drop ur cylinder down

I assume you're referring to the exhaust manifolds? Factory they didn't use any gaskets, just bolted straight to the head. Personally though I always use metal gaskets here.
