Default 96 VS ExII, what are people getting 0-100kmph???

Redbook along with other sources tell me a stocky gets 8.9 seconds.

Just then on the freeway, I pulled over, waited for no traffic, spooled up the torque converter until I'd almost lost brake traction and then let it ride.

I got 7.70 seconds from foot off brakes till 100kmph. Is 8.9secs from NOT spooling TorqConv? I'm confused, I was expecting 0.5-2 seconds MORE than stock, and that was definitely NOT the fastest my car has ever taken off.

So what are you guys getting (stockys preferred)??

There are many variables that you haven't accounted for.

Tailwind, slope angle, fuel load, passenger load, traction, atmospheric conditions and weather.

Published figures do their best to eliminate such things by averageing two passes in opposite directions and stuff like that to arrive at the figure.

I'm guessing it was a cold day with an undetectable 2-3degree descent with an 1/8th of a tank, no passengers and a 65km/h tailwind.

They figures from new car reviews vary so much. Ive seen 8.9-10.9 quoted for a VT V6. I dont know how anyone could get 10.9 for a VT thats Prius territory

If anything there was an upward slope, my car was not performing as well as it has on colder days, and the car had been running for over 25 minutes and usually by then I've lost a lot of throttle response. As for fuel it was about 40-50%

I'm not bragging, I'm asking for other peoples results. Perhaps holden says "8.9 seconds" so as to minimise the chance of it performing worse than that. Maybe they'd be in legal trouble if it did worse off the shelf?

Yeah I used an iPhone stopwatch.. and none the less, my car has driven faster than that before, so i dunno. Im just confused why its advertised at 8.9 when a 15year old engine can do faster?
