my vs commodores oil is brown and really runny, and my car is spitting out alot of water from the exhaust , it needs some new radiator hoses as they are leaking a fair bit.
And the question is?
how come the oils brown and its spitting out heaps of water ?
Compression test should show issues.
If you are lucky, it will be head/inlet gaskets.
Got a mate with a toolbox?
DIY can work out really cheap with a competent spanner man.
If not grabbing a fresh motor will probably be cheaper than handing it to a retail mechanic.
Try and get a dry/wet compression test and assess from there.
Also take the radiator cap off and start the car, give it a few revs, if the water doesn't shoot up out of the radiator you can lean a little closer to inlet manifold gasket (Which is allot cheaper and easier) but only a compression test will tell you the truth.
A compression test will not show up a blown inlet manifold gasket,so as well as the compression test, get the cooling system pressure tested as well..
