Default VR revs high, low than stalls

    Hey guys,

I was having issues with a loud knocking for a while and the other day the car suddenly stalled and wouldnt stay on for more than a few seconds.

Now i have replaced the HB and the CAS as well as the water pump (broke it while removing the HB

the good news is the knock is gone, the bad news is that the stalling and inability to stay on is still there. I have replaced the alternator and H20 sensor with some spare parts here and have tried looking at all the vacuum hoses for leaks, nothing. I have also cleaned out the throttle body and found some oil in the air intake piping.

So here is where im at, i start the car, it revs @ 1700-2000 for a couple seconds, than down to 400-700rpm for a few seconds and keeps repeating that until it conks out.

I also unplugged the MAP and it didnt make any major difference except it conked out a bit quicker.

Im thinking either MAP or O2 sensor, any advice would be great, im sick of driving the missus EL wagon for work!!

If you removed the throttle position sensor did you replace the adaptor....very easy for this to slip out and disappear.

check the tps is reading correctly with a dtc check
also check that you didint loose the little black cap under the tps that sits on the throttle body

a little oil in the intake is normal and is of no concern

is not tps recomend checking for an intake leak after the AFM like vacum hoses and intake pipe

if not those do a compression check to ensure no internal engine damage and that the knocking was just the balancer flogged out
