Default vs ss seems to missfire??

hi guys i have a vs ss i had a transmission service done a month or so ago and since then when i have been driving up hills it seems like the gearbox is slipping or seems to skip and is very sluggish in drive but if i drop it back to 3rd its fine. now i have read a few posts on here but cant seem to find one that will help with my problem but have got a few ideas on what could be wrong but just wanna find out more so i can try and fix the problem. now could it be the leads as there are two different kinds??,the hall senor in the dizzy??? the torque convertor or could it be the cat as it is a little bit dinged up.or could it be an injector leak ans it doesn't start first time and when it does there is a little puff of black smoke. now any help with this issue would be great
