Default footwell lights n green film on dash

    Hey,

Im looking at installing footwell lights into my vs exc n i couldnt find a how to. i was wondering if any does know how or know's where a how to is. Also i would like to make it so that when the door opens they turn on.

Also the second part the green film on the dash (behind it) anyone know how to remove it?

    Thanks

for the footwell lights, just splice the cables going to the roof light. the are thick orange wires and the easiest place to get to them is around where the drivers right foot sits.

i was thinking white n red dash n do a red footwell. i know blue over powers the green because how you get green (blue n yellow mixed), but nearly everyone that i know that has done the conversion from green to a different colour has choosen blue, only know of 1 who has purple.

I have seen the footwell lights at supercheap/autobaurn just a led fluroescent looking thing with mounting screws n for it to plug into a ciggie lighter but that looks sh*t n well i like cables hidden.

for the footwell lights id suggest grabbing the wiring/ plugs/globes out of a calais or statesman.
there are also 2 globes mounted under the rear of the center console.
trace them back to where they come off the existing loom so you know where to install them in your exec or alternatively splice into the wiring that serves the current interior light in your car, that way it will function with the door switch and relay.

Thanks brinz, yeah i dont want the centre consule lights i bearly have any passengers in the backseat how ever it is used

i think slicing the interior light cable would be easiest, no need to up the fuse? or anything along those lines?

theres a dude on ebay, speed graphics i think his name is, you can get any colour combo you want and he makes replacement facias. so mine for example, i got black face with red illumination, and i got the same for the aircon controls and the same for the auto shifter. as as for the footwell lights, there should be allocations for little T10 (number plate) housings under the dash cause calais had them. also have space for the stato rear lights also that go in under the center console where your heater outlet is.

@klampy i know of two sellers who do that one does a full unique customisation n the other one does white n black ones (inversed to standard) plus some pretty cool display options (you can pick how you want it to light up)

@vr_acclaim, i had a look yesterday while pulling my centre console apart to replace some globes there is 1 spot on each side slighty off the middle for a t10 parker globe but i couldnt see if there was a mount for the globes it was just a hole.

so does anyone know where to get t10 globe holders like for the parkers or is just a trip to nic a part with a some cutters n acquire the holder out of headlights n rejoin the cables etc...
