hey guys, got a 5litre manual ute. pretty new to all the v8 action so i was just wondering if i should get a 3 inch or 2.5 cat back for it. obviously when i can afford to do so ill put pacemakers on it but for now ill settle for a cat back, what does everyone recommend , cheers
yeah yeah i know the thing bout the drone but coz its a manual, unless ur cruising in 5th u think it wouldnt drone as much?
I'm also in this situation, let us know what you go with, my mate has a 3 on his 5 litre calais and it sounds tough and doesnt drone, i think if you have a resonator it wont drone as much
yeah thats what i wanna do. i know 5 litres like to breath so the 3 inch would be a good choice but i like cars sounding tough but i hate too much drone haha
We ALL HAVE 1 THING IN COMMON:THE RELENTLESS PURSUIT OF GRIP
yeah will do. cheers mate
if i was you id be saving up and doing a twin 2.5 inch with some pacemakers in one shot. single 2.5 inch isnt big enough and doesnt leave you open to future modifications

If you are chasing economy I'd go the twin system, however if you are after power a single is the way to go.
I have pacies & a 3 inch with no rear resonator & do long distance every day with no drone.
with the 2.5 inch I had previously it used to drone at about 2500-2800rpm which was highway speed for a long part of my trip.
I'm happier with the 3" as it sounds more Ballsey!![]()
All i'll add to this is 3" is def the way to go. It drones alot with just a cat back system, but the drone dissapeared a fair bit when i installed extractors.
