distrutor cap and button question

hi, i have just joinned up and really like this web site, i have looked for some info on what i need but just need conferming. going to change dizzy cap and rotor, i have looked on forums and see its held by two clips to take cap off but the rotor part does that just come out once cap is off? new to these 5l engines hope u can help sam

yeh mate the rotor button just pulls out
it will only go back in 1 way as there is a slot in there to line it up

when you change the dizzy cap just mark your leads so you dont mix them up when you put them on the new cap

thanks for all that fellas that pic really helps, one last thing just looking at my service book and replacing this rotor, it doesnt matter what direction its facing to put new one in yeah? only when u neede to replace whole dizzy? just wona make sure, lol, first time doing it.

to replace the "rotor" only it just slips off and fits on only one way as it has a cut out inside it...
