    Hi Guys

I have only owned a couple of EFI cars over the years (including my current VS)

and my question to you is, I know with some modern injected cars if you have the battery disconnected for more than 2 hours it resets the ECU and you have to drive them gently when you reset it as it will adapt to your driving style for fuel economy

Does this exist with the VS or is it just for newer cars?

In my current non Holden, I have to disconnect the battery for 12+ hours or reset the ECU in other ways.

Once reconnected, drive it like you stole it so when it's in learning mode, then it knows how it will be driven.

This is similar to an Italian tune up on order cars, flog them to teach them a lesson

The ECU will reset in these cars after the battery is disconnected for a minute or two.The earlier V6's need their idle reset after their ECU is reset, this is done by reving the engine for a minute or two at 3000 rpm,the ecotec and later V6's dont need this done, and as for driving it easy after its been reset,Ive never bothered doing that, and have never had a problem..You can also reset the ECU by removing the engine fuse for 10 seconds. The engine fuse is located under the bonnet in the fuse box...
