Don't worry about it then. The only way you can depressurize the fuel system is by taking out the fuel relay and fuse and cranking the car, sometimes they will kick over, other times they wont. If you have no battery in you're car you can always hook up a Jumper pack to you're Positive and Negative and try and depressurize you're fuel system that way.
If it's not a Symptom its not relevant, and if its not relevant I don't care!

wear safety glasses & undo the hose & pull it apart,as you've gone too far to depressurise it the other way.

Just take the hose off, and dont stare at the hose while you're pulling it off and you'll be right.

Could have had it done in the time you've been waiting

undo it with a rag around it. does the trick, wont spray and wreck your paint.

They have a valve on the fuel rail.

WTF? Off the drugs mate, they have no Valve around the fuel rail....

Probably the best way is to take out you're fuel filter out first. Should let any pressure out without having to much fuel come onto you.

If the car hasnt ran for a while(week or two)then it probably wont need depressurising anyway as any residual fuel pressure slowly drops away over time...Ive undone the fuel systems on a couple of these cars that had been sitting for a while and they didnt have any pressure left in them..

As Brett_jjj say's, the pressure is probably already dissipated. But, like above take some precautions when pulling the first hose off just to avoid getting it your eyes. Your not gonna get a high pressure fluid injection from it or anything.
