vr manual starter motor?

hey guys,
i'm finishing up my manual conversion on my vr executive, my only problem is i need a starter motor. my mate has a starter motor from a vs 5speed series 2, will that fit in a vr?
i know the difference between the auto and manual starters now, i just need to know if a vs series 2 manual starter will work.

and also will the bolts be the same, please help guys i can get the vs manual starter on the weekend i just gotta find out if it will fit

I can let you know the bolts are the same cause thats what i got mine from. As for the starter look up the part numbers on the supercheap part finder and see if there the same!

It should be the same, so long as it is a delco unit.

Ok so if i make sure its a delco one first i should be right and maybe take the bolts with me aswell?

Dont listen to him, the manual and auto starters are both delco! Worse comes to worse you can just modify a auto one. (refer to post below)

When looking at it a manual one dosent have a cone shape on the front of it where the auto one dose.

Ok so i just gotta make sure it doesnt have the nose cone on it. Does anyone know if the vs manuals have that one cause i heard the vs ones use auto starters for manual

Just checked, V6's VN-VY all the same part numbers so that means they would be the same apart from auto/manual differences. So yes, look for one without the cone.
