Hi Guys i am having a problem in my statesmans engine bay...
its a 97 statesman supercharged and when NOT accelerating a somewhat squeeling noise comes from the engine bay. Basically at idle at lights or when driving without any acceleration.
It usually occurs between the car warming up and the car fully warmed up...
The belts have been changed twice. I have replaced the auto-tensioners as well..
I suspect the belts have been stretched, hence why I keep getting a squeel (birds chirping)... possibly stronger/tighter belts or ??
What would be the best go to rid of the noise, without using any belt grip...
Thanks guys I appreciate it
Andrew
so you've' changed all the pullies not just the auto tensioner one? could be water pump bearing also.

I did have a problem with one of the bearings, but might give it a go having a look what it could be....
Is it usual for the VS's though to have the squeel in idle?
It's common, I wouldn't say it's usual though. If the supercharger seems ok, then my next guess would be the AC Compressor bearings which are shot!
If it's not a Symptom its not relevant, and if its not relevant I don't care!
I've got the same problem in mine, got told it was in the idler but haven't looked into it further as i have no $$$
I have the same problem, i have been told it was the idler but im not sure about it yet as i dont have the $$$
what size pulley is on the charger and what belt you running?
