would i be able to replace my VS standard brakes with VZ brakes? would this make any difference? would it be worth it?
cheers chris
im not 100% sure on this, but VT Brakes is a common upgrade on most VR-VS models, and all it involves is a bigger Brake Booster, but it apparantly does a amazing difference
If your going to upgrade with VZ brakes you might aswell go the VE upgrade otherwise the VT is the way to go
if you already have VE rims on the car then the brakes would fit on wouldnt they?
thats right I think theres a 2mm difference in the stud size,so what you would need is an adapter for the calipers, new brake lines, hub adaptor kit,or there is the VE twin piston upgrade package to suit your car I think they start from $815,get on to gslrallysport I think thats who do them or ebay $750

Vt and vz should be the exact same breaks
Thats correct vb-vz same stud pattern,vt-vz same brakes,so yes you can fit them, but like I said if you had the $$$ then a VE upgrade is the way to go,the performance is alot quicker braking and stopping
ok so no point getting VZ then aye umm do i only need the disc and caliper to change it though?
For a street car mate your honestly better off upgrading the discs and pads. Anything else is just a waste.
Welcome to the internet where people have opinions that you might not like
The VE brake kit comes with everything to convert to the VE brakes so yes they do fit.
Yes put the VZ brakes on your still upgrading to a better braking system
hsv91ss OP doesnt have the $$$ to upgrade to VE thats his main problem otherwise he would I think
Please read my post. Yes granted the VT brakes will be an improvement however on a fairly standard street car it will not be worth it. Stick with some slotted and maybe dimpled rotors and some decent pad's. Will make a world of difference.

This topic has been done to death.
I have VTXZ brakes. Actually they are not really brakes, more a occasional slowing device.
They are OK but not worth the frigging around and you have to change the master cylinder.
Get a VE conversion. Then your brakes will improve from dissapointing to acceptable.
If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?
im not looking to do a complete change of brakes just an upgrade because if i went with a complete change i would get a better brakes system than holden adds on their standard cars and a complete change is way to much $$ when i can spend that on a CAI or other performance parts. thanks to all of you for your input but i think ill try and get a hold of VZ brakes
cheers
vt brakes are fine........unless you trying to pull up a 6ltr lol ni shit mate i did the vt upgrade on my old ute and it pulled up on a dime......anything more on a vs is realy over kill and cost way more $$$$$ the vt will be more than fine( ive done it with vented discs and it was amazing,,,save some $$$$ and go the vt.......good luck
We ALL HAVE 1 THING IN COMMON:THE RELENTLESS PURSUIT OF GRIP
just so you know, you will need the calipers, rotors, adaptor shims to mount the rotors to your hub, and conversion brake lines. its not just a matter of rotors and calipers.
and preferably a VT master cylinder. then you will need either a VT booster and modify it, or an adaptor shim from Race Brakes Sydney to mount VT master to VS Booster.
Just an FYI for everyone....
OP - Depending on what you can get a conversion for. If you're unhappy with your current brakes there's nothing wrong with bigger, especially if they're fitted to a later model as parts should be easy and inexpensive to come by,Disc Brakes Australia -- Product Search Results

ok thanks boys looking forward to getting better braking out of the old girl. thanks for your help
also drain / flush & bleed the fluid through completely, you will be shocked by how much of a difference fresh fluid can make.
