tacho signal wire

My old man has a vs s3 v8 ute(same motor and wiring harness as the vt 5l). Do these motors have a tacko signal wire in the engine bay like the earlier wiring harnesses have.

Yep, brown wire with a connecter on it running up the passanger side i think. Its sticking out of the loom.

I cant seam to find it on his loom tho. My 5l loom does.but when.i.looked.on his his loom is different. Would.it be in a.different spot due to a different harness runninh the mass air flow sensor or am.i going blind
