Error code 14 vr v8

i have had a problem lately where the engine light comes on then go off for a while, with information obtained from this site, i have managed to retrieve an error code of 14.
this code is ECT sensor voltage low auto trans code.IS this the engine coolant temp sensor or a sensor on the auto trans (as said by previous owner)

Error code 14 is an ECT (Engine Coolant Temperature) sensor fault,it has nothing to do with the auto trans.Just check the ECT wiring and connector and if it all looks ok,clear the error codes by removing the negative battery terminal for a minute or two,recheck the codes to make sure it cleared properly,then drive the car for half an hour or so, and then recheck the error codes again to see if the error code came back,if it did come back,then renew the ECT sensor.Try to only use genuine holden sensors when replacing them..

Tried that today, looks like i am up for a new (Engine Coolant Temperature) sensor thanks for the info. Any idea how much they are from holden?

Bought one in March from Holden - $11.
