Default Vr clutch releases right at the top?

    Hey guys
I Just finished my vr manual conversion, when i let the clutch out nothing happens until the pedal is right at the top of its travel.
How can i make the cutch release sooner?
I have tried adjusting the pedal but that just seems to change its height.

The clutch cable can be adjusted on the gearbox end. Have you tried that? Also, my Gregory's manual states the pedal height should be about 168 -/+ 5mm

Yes i have adjUsted the cable but all that seems to be doing is change the height of the pedal, it seems to release at the same point no matter how i adjust it.

Did you adjust the release lever pivot ball height?

As hako said did you adjust the pivot ball part inside the bellhousing. If this is wrong then your engage point will.be out.

Adjuster on gearbox - pedal height

Pivot point inside gearbox - friction point

Altho if you have adjusted the pedal it dose give the sence of a change in the friction point but its not really changed in relation to how much travel it takes before you get to it. Its still the same amount of depression from where the pedal sits normaly to friction point that wont change without adjustment of the pivot point.

So I would look up the recomended setting for the pivot point (ive got them somwhere) and adjust it and put some lock tight on it cause ive had them rattle loose! Then adjust the pedal to your prefered height.

iv just done a toyota conversion in my vr and had the pull the box out four times before i got the pedal right. if it doesnt bother you to have it grab at the end of your pedal travel then leave it. if its annoying like mine was, pull it out and adjust the pivot ball. at least if you adjust the ball now you will be giving yourself room for adjustment in the cable for later on.
