my old clutch cable decided to give in my VS commodore, so i purchaed a new one.
3.8L ecotec T5 clutch cable.
exactly the same engine and box i have, yet.
its different to the one that was in it,
and it just popped out again.
could it be a t5 geabox that came out of a v8 with all the v8 clutch pedal and so fourth, just put in to a v6?
thats my only real idea, im confused,
someone help!
i cant drive my car!
There is no difference in the peddle box or cable.
that just confused me even more.
i may just need some new rubber around that metal piece that goes into the throught that hole to get to the pedal.
any ideas? :/
There should be a big spacer looking thing that goes into the pedal box from the engine bay. Is that still.there
as in the metal piece? yeah thats still there
Yeah when the cables not in it can be pulled out of the pedal box. Mine is bronze coloured looking if that helps
yeah, but by the looks of it, when we took it off the old cable it looked as if the rubber mount had worn away, it may just need to be adjusted, but im not to sure on how to do that.
The black nut on the gearbox end of the cable needs to.be done up to te correct udjustment. Normally break and clutch pedals.sit same height when adjusted correctly
Why don't you just do the smart thing, take a photo for us so we can help you in the right direction instead of guessing until the fu&king world ends!
If it's not a Symptom its not relevant, and if its not relevant I don't care!
alright, thanks man, and should there be a spring attached in someway to the clutch pedal?
mine doesnt have it, and mechanic said it was missing it, hes also a f**king idiot who over charges and doesnt even do the job the correct way. hah.
ill take a few photos in the morning when i connect it all back up.
Spring is on the pedalbox it self. There is a spring in the engine bay but it just keeps the cable to the side. No real importance
ill get some pics up, it'll be easier for you blokes as well as me.
if you could post up pics of all spacers and brackets for a clutch cable in a vs that would be good. Ever since i conveted mine to manual my clutch cable has never worked without me having to put a spacer on the clutch fork bracket. Ive always wondered if i was missing parts in the conversion. Its gotten that annoying that im even considering converting it to a hydraulic setup
im heading to bendigo today, gonna go out to a clucth joint in golden square, maybe they can set it straight, yeah its pissing me off.
i have the old cable as well and the only difference is the size of a piece of rubber at one end :S
alright, thats a photo with the spacers and the metal thing im talking about.
also, if you look on the new cable it has a rubber one and another spacer on it.
That doenst look like a normal cable to me.
the adjuster dosent look right
dont worry![]()
found the problem.
the clutch fork or whatever the clutch cable holds onto near the gearbox was bent and f**ked,
went to Castlemaine last night and picked up a new one, its all good!
