heya mate i dont know if its the same but i had a problem with my vs sounds similar to this

what was happining was i was putting in the key and turning but it was like it was free spinning inside the barrel and fixing it was absolute BITCH! ... if you can try it and see if the key is free spinning ( like its not grabbing anything or even going into accessory's mode ) if this is the case i would advise just getting it towed to a mechanic and getting them to fix the barrel because after what i went threw with it is not worth trying to do yourself its possable but unless you know someone who has done it before or has knowledge of how to do it your going to be pulling ur hair out till your bald and have blood coming out ur skull

hope this helps and hope it made sense
    My Vs " Liberator 1" =)
Side note : A V8 doesn't kill, the ######## driver who cant handle one does
    LOL!

You can get around a non working ignition key by bypassing the immobiliser, this is done by leaving the ignition key in the "ON" position,(reds lit up), for 45 minutes for a series 1 VS ,or 120 minutes for a series 2 VS...You will see that when its ready to start, the red flashing security light on the dash will have stopped flashing. Also remember that once the car has been started,if you turn it off again, you will have to wait the 45 or 120 minutes again before it will start again..
