Vs issues

My mate has a vs com and it ran out of fuel after we put fuel in it it ran very rough so we cleaned the fuel filter out and checked fuel was circulating around the pipes, this did not fix it
it will start but runs badly and it looses power when you put your foot down, sometimes it comes good well sort off good, and runs like not on all cylinders and other times it just stalls when you try to go.
its like a yoyo up and down in power. if you cost it when it comes good it can get u from A to B
anyone have any ideas on how to check things out in some order
my mate is a broke pensioner and needs some advice on how to proceed as cheaply as possible, thanks

run some fuel cleaner threw it, it would of sucked the shit up of the bottom of the tank,, it took a good 3 days for mine to run properly after my uncle borrow my vs. All i did was the red fuel cleaner that treats 2 tanks, and a fuel filter i ran the full lot threw mine in one hit with premium.
