Default Getting a bit more poke out of the VR

I posted up a similar thread in V6 development but no replies there, so thought i'd try the VR-VS forum.

I'm looking to increase my 0-100km times, and possibly 1/4 times. One thing i've been looking at is getting the factory cam regrinded for a bit more power and torque. I probably will go with a Wade or waggott cam.

I have heard that some cams will reduce your 1/4 time, but increase 0-100km time, whats everyone thoughts on that?

And while i have the cam out to get regrinded, what other work should i get done to the motor to get the most benefit of the cam?

A lower diff ratio is probably the best mod to start off with for better 0-100 km/h times and 1/4 mile times etc. Also you might want to look into getting a tuned memcal, tuned length extractors and good flowing exhaust system,a cold air intake, and Id definitely go for the better camshaft if you can either fit it yourself, or if you know someone who will fit it for you cheap..some of the quotes that Ive seen people post up on here before that theyve been given to have a new camshaft fitted, are just ridiculous...

I dont think a regrind can for hydrolic lifters are a good idea, never get it running 100%. go for a new one at least there wont be clearance issues

CAI, high flow exhaust and memcal have been done already, but over time I get used to the extra power those mods bring. I can find someone who wont charge an arm and a leg to do the cam if i decide to go through with it.
