Howdy Folks,
Having some problems with a VS commo, driving along and the hazzards come one erratically (most common problem) tacho doesn't respond or appears lower then normal erratically, door locks open, and the radio cuts out for a second...
I was thinking BCM, but i had a squiz at it, and it looks ok, from the outside lol...
Any ideas?
Any idea on where most of them are?
Clean the battery terminals and make sure they are tight..Id also check the ECU wiring connectors to make sure the connector pins are not corroded etc.. Id say its most likely gonna be a BCM problem though,so you might have to borrow a BCM from somewhere to see if it fixes the problems. If you find that you do have to renew the BCM,then remember that if you get one from a wreckers, then you will also need the ignition key fob(plastic part of ignition key) from the same car the BCM comes from as they are coded to match eachother for the immobiliser system. If the keyfob and BCM dont match, the car wont start. You will also need the right level BCM,they come in low, medium, and high, theres also lux ones used sometimes,so just check your old BCM first to see which one it is,its written on the sticker on the BCM.Writing down the VIN from the vehicle the BCM and key fob comes from is also a good idea,it will come in handy if you ever loose your keys to your car, holden can use the VIN to acess the BCM security code to program a new keyfob if you ever need one... Also Id check for any ECU error codes, theres some excellent pics showing you how to do this simple test near the bottom of the posts in this link.
