    Default problem starting

hi guys, having a problem starting my VR calais, ive recently had a battery draining problem which i got ficxed not to long ago, anyway, i just got my battery off the charger, put it in my car, and i heard a very fast ticking sound, i looked inside the car and all the lights were going nuts, the middle Security light was going off, the lights that light up electric window bottons were going off, anyways, i tryed starting the car up, as soon as i put the key in, everything stops, but it wouldnt start, all dashboard lights are very dim, and the engine wont turn over at all, and i know it aint the battery cause i jus had it on the charger for the last 2 days and its full, so then as soon as i take the key out of the ignition, all the lights start going off again untill i disconnect the battery, normally when i press the button on the key, all lights turn off and doors lock, but now pushing the button wont do anything, any ideas guys? i can take a video of the problem if that will help

I'd say you've installed the battery polarity wrong way round with the positive going to earth. If this is so, all you can do it put the battery back in correctly and then start replacing all the burnt out components. Hope I'm wrong.

Hmmm. I admit I really don't know much about cars, but I do know how to connect a battery correctly, I have a feeling it has something to do with the security stuff in the car. When the battery is connected, it nearly looks like an alarm is trying to go off, if that was the case, that's why I was trying to press the button on mykey to stop it, but I think the electrics in the key are buggered or the battery is dead or something.
