im having problems with my Ute. it stalls when gearing down from 3rd to 2nd with the clutch in. at first it only done it once in a while now its doing it almost every time, also just today its had a massive drop in power that seems come on and off. ive checked the codes and its only come up with 12. it idles well however seems to require a lot of revs to get it rolling
any help would be much appreciated
possibly just a fugged dizzy cap or fugged out spark plug or leads
Yeah im with Wagz.. Or perhaps its some bad fuel.. My ute did this when I filled it up with E10.... Food for thought?

Well given it gives no codes, and you have done all previous work. So maybe the fuel pump/line/filter is blocked/worn. The fuel side of things of the V8's dont have any way of logging codes in the ecu. Check out the Fuel pressure Regulator also and the vacume line attached to it at the back of the fuel rail. Theres a fair chance somthing maybe up with that also.
In order of things(price wise, DIY style) i would; check the fuel reg vac line, the fuel filter, flush fuel lines, replace pump. Could also be injector flow related, if there is a fair few of them fugged.
argh my 5ltr 5speed had that turned out idle screw had magically backed out of throttle body and had done timing with that setting so set your diagnostic pin in place bring idle too 850rpm standard with 0 degrees timing then add then 10 degrees advance back screw out till 850 is achieved again iac should be not operating then disconnect diagnostic pin should idle up too 1250 too 1500 then it should idle down to base idle go for a drive and check it out
