hi i have a vs clubsport that cranks over but wont start in the last year it's had replaced ignition module new coil and was fine then it was the fuel pump and full rwc a month ago was all good then last week same thing wont start. mechanic said came up with code and was the coil got it back fine for 3 days then drive it to work great start it after work wont start 15min later started back at the mechanic's but just after same idea's as what you think it could be as im sick of pooring money in this stupid car. cheers
sounds like the shit that used to happen with my clubsport
i had a fuel pump go...to check if yours is dying (even tho its newish)get a mate to smash the tank with his fist as you try to crank it over
i had a an ignition problem...changed the module and coil and was still haveing issues....ending up being the hall effect sensor in the dizzy....this seems to be a fairly common problem
yeah id be thinking hall effect sensor in the distributor....u can just replace the hall effect but its just as easy to do the entire dizzy

^^what Brendo said^^
Have you checked for error codes. Last year mine was cranking but not firing. Had Error Code 46 - No Reference Signal while cranking.
Turned out to be the Hall Effect Sensor. I believe you can buy these and "rebuild" the dizzy but I have also heard it is nearly as expensive as just buying a new one which is what I did. Haven't had a problem since.
yeh it was the dizzy thanks guys
It's the holy trinity for the 304 EFI: Ignition coil and/or distributor with the fuel pump. Good to hear your issue was sorted...
