I am replacing the hall sensor in my distributor, i have removed the circlip that holds the hall rotor on the shaft now having trouble removing the rotor.
have tried using two screw drivers but i dont want to force it or damage it.
Have sprayed a small amount of wd40 on shaft, slighlty rusted is there any tricks to remove this without damaging it?
Had to remove the distributor and completely and dissemble it, still cant get the hall rotor of the shaft. Looks like a press fit that has welded itself on there.
One thing that i leaned is not to even slightly try to pry this off as they bend quiet easily, as mine was and was catching the hall sensor as i rotated it to disassemble it. Looks like am now up for a new distributer or parts from another i can use. the hall rotor will no longer be able to be used as i have damaged it trying to get it off the shaft. Does anyone know if those cheap $65 distributors on e/bay would be any good?
havent had a problem with mine in 3 years, and it was only $45![]()
I had Dizzy Issues with my car... I also damaged the hall effect sensor with I was removing mine.. Just dont do what I did and put it back in wrong. I was 180 out, then I was tooth out ect...
