Default airbag light on and tech1/2 wouldnt fix problem

hi guys, took my vs calais to auto elect yesterday to clear a fault light, i had replaced the passenger airbag cushion and remover centre consol ect to work on the radio etc. after all was done this light came on. the auto elect said his diagnostic machine wouldnt register there being any airbag circuit, said could be a blown fuse or faulty module. any thoughts??

dont even worry guys! i just checked the fuse and it was blown, some tech he was!!! i just assumed it wasn't a fuse blown, that would be too easy. MUST NOT ASSUME!! calais all ship shape again.

Id check the wiring going to the SRS module under the drivers seat and also check fuse number 18 under the steering column..If theres a problem in the SRS system and the SRS dashlight is on,then there will be a certain error code logged to show what/where the problem may be.Obviously you need a scantool that will connect to the SRS system to be able to retrieve these error codes. Also some scantools cant acess the SRS system,I know that some snap on scanners will, and obviously the Tech 1 will as well..

Heres a list of the SRS error codes..
