Mines blue... and I got a mate and his is purple?

So long as you used BRAKE fluid to the manufactures specifications for your vehicle and not washing detergent you should be OK.

If it's the first time you have done the brakes in this car you should definitely replace the brake fluid. You can then choose your own colour !!! Best to choose a different colour to what you already have as it makes it easier to see when the new fluid has appeared at the caliper you are bleeding.

ive bought bottle of brake fluid before, same grade, same brand, same purchase, some clear some were blue, just the dye, as long as it's the same DOT number rating then it's fine. DOT4 is what is specific. DOT4 will also absorb moisture so change ideally every 12months.
