Hey guys,
Driving home from work i pulled over for a minute or two and when i started her back up she coughed and spluttered, nearly stalling when touched the accelerator pedal.....it gets about 200m down the road and dies. Nothing, it has fired for a second a few times but thats it.
I have replaced the coil pack with no luck and it is getting fuel up to the engine. Unfortunately i cant get any error codes as i tried resetting the ECU before checking codes, so naturally i get 12s.
The car wasnt overly hot (night time - 10 degrees outside) but the car just did 400 odd km today.
Could it be the CAS? have been searching through other posts and cant find similar symptoms.
Any help would be great, its sitting about 500m away from home![]()

Try pouring some cold water over the CAS - that cools it rapidly and if the engine then starts you might make it the 500m...may also prove it is the CAS (may not leave a code) Good Luck.
Edit...it DOES have plenty of fuel in the tank??

Thanks hako...
There's the catch (fuel). When i pulled up the warning buzzer sounded for low fuel (just above the bottom line), so naturally i thought low fuel as its not started before and low fuel has been the culprit. The first thing i did was get 5L from the local servo, nope. Sorry didnt mention that in the first post but im thinking i just poured 5L into it, it shouldnt be fuel. I have taken off a fuel line at the rail and with the ignition on i get fuel coming out, not spurting out but theres plenty there.

Sounds like fuel pump could be on it's way out. They're funny like that, can work good for a while, then play up, then come good again. Until they die altogether.
Hmm, i can hear the fuel pump priming when i turn the ignition on, and it stays on for a shorter amount of time if i turn the ignition ON/OFF several times, so im thinking its building up fuel pressure like it should?
Alrighty, two things to try.....bash fuel tank and pour water on CAS![]()

And add more fuel - like at least another 15 - 20 litres.

Verdict is in.......CAS. Poured 2L of water onto it and she started straight away. Looks like im having fun with that crank pulley tomorrow!
Thanks guys for your help.
