probably not mate each box has a code on it for that yr ie a vr would prob be 4hdd or hhd

I don't think you can...you can normally put new stuff into old cars but I don't think it works the other way around?

The VR auto trans is controlled electronically whereas the VN/VP autos are controlled manually via bands etc. so would require a lot of extra effort and expense compared with installing a replacement VR trans.
