Which Auto trans can i use??

Hi guys,
I have a 08/94 VR Statesman. My trans has just blown up and i have just bought a 7HBD trans and am wondering if anyone has ever put one of these in a VR??
The current trans in vehicle is not the original and ever since it was replaced,
worked fine most of the time except occasionally the engine light would come on and
shifts were very hard which i could put up with.
By the way the engine is a V8.

Check the electrical plug - count the pins. On the V6 models, the plug on later models has more pins, and this is the problem. With a bit of luck the V8 did not have this problem but someone else on the forum should know.

check the numbers on teh gear boxes, if they are the same then ur in luck, if not then well ur out of luck, best advice is be sure to look and then see if they are the same
