Default What is this??? Climate control bit broken off :S

Hey everyone..... was taking the interior apart today to try and fix this vac leak, found that the vac solenoid box wasn't connected correctly. Anywho among my fiddling I noticed this bit lying around..... I have no idea where it's come from.... looks kinda similar to the exec heater controls with the analog switcher.

Any idea what this is from? Advice greatly appreciated.

Maybe have a look on the LHS of the heater box. There is a motor and position sensor for the flap that controls the hot/cold air mix. That's about the only part that has a gear in it. Or did have .

I think that it's held in place by self tapping screws only and has a single electrical plug into it so should be easy to R + R. You may, however, have to remove some of the trim that is under the dash for access.

Hey man thanks for the reply, I still haven't quite understood exactly where it goes yet?

I looked today and saw a black cog on the LHS that turns slowly with the heat adjustment.
But I couldn't see where this white one would go? Also I found this cog on the RHS... but it could have fallen off and moved over there somehow.

Could you explain a bit more? photos of a working setup would be amazing.

Cheers, thanks for the replies guys - help much appreciated.

The motor/sensor is about level with the radio in height but behind the LHS of the fascia. That might help find it.

It's in a plastic housing and there are about half a dozen of those self-tapping screws around it. The gear would have to have fallen out of that housing.

Of course it may not be from that motor but I can't think of anything else that has the gears. The vent control actuators are all bell cranks or similar I think.
