Hi guys,
I've just bought a VR V8 Calais, that has had some p-plater mods (Pod filter, aftermarket tail lights, electric thermo fans w/ misile switch)
I want to restore it to standard.
Someone has removed the heater tap. I have a VS V6 one lying around to install. Will it work ok? Can anyone tell me where the vac line comes through the firewall?
The drivers side door open swithes dont seem to work, is this common? any sugestions where to start looking, before i trawl through miles of wiring with my multi?
Are the V6 and V8 airboxes the same?
Thanks Boys
Drivers switchs are earthed i think? So single wire to ground through the screw that mounts it. But either way, check the switch conductivity with ur ohm meter an go from there.
I think the heater taps are differant
fixed the door switches, just needed some wd40.
the taps are different, but ive got a v6 vs lying around, so id like to use the parts off that if i can.
I doubt you could really use v6 parts... Just buy a new heater tap and I think the airboxes might be different..
new tap should be around $50, and i dont think you can really use many v6 parts at all
might as well get a new one, have to a repco run this week anyway.
Any idea where the vac hose comes through the firewall?

the airbox top itself is the same but the pipe that comes out of it to the motor is different
Heater is hooked up, no leaks. It just on all the time.
I think i can use the V6 inlet pipe reversed.
Would one of you guys mind looking at where the vac line for the Heater tap runs on your cars?
Thanks
