Vs hsv senator starting issues.

hey i got a 96 vs senator,

every now and then it desides it doesnt want to start, so u gotta sit and wait 5 minutes then it starts fine, no problems with running and shit. does this every 2 or 3 weeks. took it to a mechanic and they reckon nothing is wrong with it, say computer is fine and everything, anyone got any idea's? battery is fine and shit.

It might be your key. If the contacts are bad between the key and the contact ring or if your key is going flat. If you have a second key try that. It is a very common problem

Yep, what noddycommodore said. I had a similar problem a few years ago...new key and contact ring and all good.

I would suggest doing a Diagnostic check (the how to section should contain this info if you are not already familiar), it may have something to do with the Theft Deterent Signal which started to play up in mine to cause the same kind of problem.
