Did you start the engine and let the oil fill the oil filter? Or did you not change the oil filter? The recomended amount includes oil filter.
Not a good idea to have it too overfull, get a spray bottle, like windex, etc, a length of fish tank type clear hose, stick it down your dipstick tube and squirt the excess oil out.
'Ah well, I suppose it had to come to this.'

You need to check the oil when the car is turned off, pull the dipstick out then clean it,do this a couple of times and then on the 3rd check see where the oil is upto on the dipstick. You should always put in less oil than its recommended and then add more if needed.

I guess a large dent may make some difference to the reading. Don't forget though that when it's at operating temperature it will read even higher, due to the oil expanding when hot. So 10mm on dipstick when cold may be 15-20mm when hot, which is when they are supposed to be checked.
So I always under fill mine slightly, then check it when it's hot to get the hot reading.

10mm over the full mark on the dipstick wont do any damage to your motor
if it was full to the top of the dipstick i would be worried

as the manual says its 5.1 litres
i would be surprised if you actually drain the same amount out
with some of the oil sticking to the inside of the motor
or some of it breaking down between oil changes

Ever thought about just draining a bit out? For the time it would take to undo the sump plug, and let a bit out. To the time it's taken to make this thread and then reply to comments the job could be done correctly.

For 20 years or more now Ive been filling my oil so its just slighly over the full line on the dipstick, say 3mm over or thereabouts,Ive never had a problem doing this. Its better to have it slightly overfull than underfull. If an engine is overfilled too much though, the crankshaft can hit the oil in the sump as it spins, this can cause all sorts of problems, the oil that gets splashed around inside the engine splashes up onto the cylinder walls ,way too much for the oil control rings to handle, so it can ends up getting past the rings and burning oil when its running. It can also cause excessive crankcase pressures which can blow engine gaskets and cause oil leaks...But if its only over the full line just a small amount, then it wont hurt anything..
