My vr just cranks over but won't start. Fuel pressure is good. Theres no spark though. I changed the cas. It fired ran for a min then stalled. Then there was no spark again.
I thought that the cas was faulty but upon putting in anougher brand new cas was same problem.
I need help. I'm stumpped on what could be the problem.
Checked the fault codes?
No spark=coil packs or DFI module. Probably.
I've Alredy swapped coil packs and still same result. And it's very rare that all the coil packs would go at once. Haven't checked the codes as yet. As car is Broken down at my brothers house. Getting him to do it the sarvo.
It could be that the DFI module is faulty if you have only changed over the 3 coils so far, this module sits directly under the 3 coils,it has the connectors on it that go into the 3 coils.....Id also carefully check the wiring from the CAS and the DFI module. To remove the DFI wiring connector, you have to remove a small screw that holds the connector in place..
Ok it's the dfi module. But now the car has a massive miss when it's revved. Gonna check fault codes tomorrow. Any suggestions though. I think it could have something to do with the harmonic balancer.
Did you put the spark plug leads in the right place on the coils. Sometimes its easy to get mixed up.

Why do you think the balancer is causing the miss?
Plugs, leads, coil packs, or possibly fuel. I'd lean towards a spark issue more than fuel. Is the new DFI a known good one or just bought and put on?
Id get hold of another "known" working ignition coil and try it ,one at a time,in each of the three positions where the coils are and then drive it each time to see if the misfire goes away.If you find that one coil is stuffed, then its best to replace all three at the same time, and try to only use genuine holden coils, they run better and last longer than the cheaper ones..
