Steering colum

Hi Guys just got a vs ute and I need a little help? I had to tighten the steering colum adjuster thought i was going fine until i tried to put it back together when this black ring with a wire fell out does anybody know where goes? dont worry this is the first of many silly Qs ill be asking

clips around where the key goes. Its the key reader for the immobiliser system

Thanks wamboin but it wasnt there when I pulled the cover off I took special notice because I had to remove the bulb from the green ignition light thanks again i will keep looking or if any bodyelse has a idea?

I suggest you spend $40 and get yourself a gregorys workshop manual.It will show you where/how parts like the key reader you mention,goes to,and also tells you the proper procedure to remove refit parts..These manuals usually pay for themselves the first time you use it to fix or service something that you would usually have to pay a mechanics to do..You also learn heaps about your car from these manuals..
