Any really low set springs will give a heaps rough ride no matter what shocks/struts you use...Having the suspension heaps low and stiff usually just wrecks the car in the long run as the car ends up full of rattles and noises etc.Ive seen it happen a million times where some young bloke gets a beautiful example of a car, lowers it heaps, and then 12 months time, its full of rattles and creaks etc .Bugger that..

What is it with people and their low cars having soft suspension???

Mines firm as. I have shortened shocks and it's still extremely rough.

Its probably got different rated springs in it compared to yours..Springs also go softer with age and use, and will give a heaps soft ride when they get old and worn out..

What are ultra lows? I thought they were the struts/lowered springs, so how can you have stock old struts in there as well?

I am on a mission to refurbish a VS wagon I picked up quite cheap and the struts and some front bushes are on the important to do list.
My front struts must have no gas or oil? left in them and the rubbers are split in two pieces.
The front suspension just bounces and the ride is terrible.
As soon as you sit in the driver seat or a passenger gets in, the whole car shakes and bobs up and down and when it comes to taking a corner..... well you can just imagine ... lol.

I would think replacing the struts and rear shocks for some as you have suggested in that link from ebay would improve the ride and handling substantially.

Not sure what that brand is like ride quality wise tho.
there are other manufacturers like Monroe and KYB which may be better.
